GOOD BYE CASH FOR CLUNKERS

With the full usage of the state funds "UMWELTPRAEMIE - colloquial and more popular not "environment subsidy" but "WRECKAGE SUBSIDY" in Germany and "CASH FOR CLUNCKERS" in the USA the markets and aftermarkets will suffer from its impacts for years by an inhomogenous generation tree of small cars, overproportional market share of imported and poor-equipped (especially safety options) small cars in model years 2009 and 2010, lack of demand in this sector afterwards, erosion of 2nd hand car prices and reduced business for repair workshops and spare parts.

The environmental effect may occur with replacements of old Diesels (without particulary exhaust filters), but very often Otto-engined cars EU4 were replaced by an EU4 and not by the EU5, required for new models after the time of IAA Frankfurt Motor show. Thus a limited environmental effect for the past and present with negative impact on the future.

In the future these young subsidised EU4 cars will prevent consumers for many years to replace them by more fuel-efficient cars with sharper exhaust limits EU5 and EU6 by shortage of cash and no necessity to replace young cars. This government impact on the market creates a fierce deadlock situtation for the european automobile industry: New environment-friendly models cannot be sold in the planned high volumes to fulfill the 120/130 g CO² commitment path and to cover in the same time horizon the high research & development costs to finance the creation of new technologies for cars, power trains and alternative energies.

INTERIM[4]AUTOMOTIVE can create value in the automotive industry by individual services to reduce costs, streamline processes and open new global manufacturing and sourcing opportunities to meet the ambitious challenges.
